Released October 6, 2020, Deeble takes aim at the Trump administration and much of the American church that continued to support him. Continuing in a tradition of songs inspired by literature (i.e. "The Secret Life of Emily Dickinson", "A Russian Murder Ballad", and "Pleasure to Burn"), Deeble’s “Not on Your Team” was inspired by a literary study of the Book of Amos (minor prophet in the Tanahk/Old Testament) in which Amos charged political and religious leaders with injustice toward the poor and crimes against humanity. This recording is another collaboration with Ric Hordinski (founding member of Over The Rhine) who scored the string arrangement.
